Cheadle Hulme Primary School is delighted to announce the appointment of Miss Laura Vose as Head of School, from September 2026.

Miss Vose brings significant leadership experience in primary education and a strong track record of securing excellent outcomes for children, staff and families.

Since 2022, Miss Vose has served as Headteacher at Thorn Grove Primary School in Cheadle Hulme, where a clear focus on high standards, care and ambition has underpinned the school’s continued development.

Prior to this, Miss Vose held a range of leadership roles, including Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher at Ludworth Primary School. Here, Laura worked with colleagues to develop an ambitious and inspiring curriculum in line with national changes.

In addition, she transformed the school’s writing curriculum to one that used quality texts to create purposeful and emotive writing experiences.

Laura trained at Manchester Metropolitan University and has developed extensive experience in using drama as a teaching pedagogy and inclusive practices.

Miss Vose has already begun building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families and has worked alongside Mr Maguire to support a smooth transition in leadership.

On being appointed as Head of School, Laura said:

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining Cheadle Hulme Primary School as Head of School and feel incredibly enthusiastic about this new journey. Over recent months, I have had the opportunity to get to know the school community, and it is clear that CHPS is a school with a strong sense of belonging, care and ambition for its children. It is a privilege to become part of such a special community.

I am excited to continue getting to know the children, staff and families, and to build on the many strengths already in place. Together, there is a real opportunity to continue providing an excellent education and preparing children for the future.”

Laurus Trust Director of Primary, Mrs Lisa Woolley, added:

“Miss Vose brings a wealth of experience, energy and commitment to excellence. This appointment represents an exciting step forward for Cheadle Hulme Primary School, and we are confident that her leadership will have a positive impact on pupils, staff and the wider community.”

From September, Miss Vose will lead the continued development of the school, working closely with the school staff team and Laurus Trust colleagues to build on existing strengths and ensure that every child benefits from a high-quality, enriching and ambitious educational experience.

The school community looks forward to welcoming Miss Vose and to the next chapter in the development of Cheadle Hulme Primary School.
